Comments Thread For: Victor Ortiz Welcomes a Danny Garcia Showdown

Former 147-pound champion Victor Ortiz (29-4-2, 22KOs) welcomes a potential fight with WBO/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (27-0, 16KOs), who is likely moving up to welterweight in 2014.

Ortiz returns on January 30th against fellow former welterweight champion Luis Collazo at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. There have been lingering rumors that Garcia would face the Ortiz-Collazo winner.

Ehhh.. We'll see.. Danny would beat Victor but I don't see them fighting at 154. 147 maybe. Victor comes into fights at like 165 on fight night, which I don't think Danny would be too thrilled about. We have to see how Victor looks first in his return. I wouldn't mind seeing this though

Victor needs to focus on his current fight. We all see what happened with Lopez when Ortiz was looking forward to a Canelo match up.

This is would be a good match-up for GBP, Garcia would score an easy stoppage adding a lot of hype to a Floyd fight.

Ortiz deserves nothing close to a title fight. i thought he was done taking punishment?

If Victor can still make 147 this would be good for Danny.

This would be a fun fight to watch. Guaranteed action. Toss up at this point.

It wouldn't be a title fight. Danny would have to vacate and move up to 147.
