Irish middleweight star Andy Lee, (31W-2L, 22KOs) is targeting a showdown with fellow Irishman Matthew Macklin, (30W-5L, 20KOs) in 2014.

Lee presently ranked WBC # 7, WBA #12 and WBO #14 believes that an all Irish barnstormer with Macklin is what boxing fans want to see.

In recent years speculation at times has been at fever pitch about the prospect of a mouth-watering Lee v Macklin encounter, with the media and public viewing the fight as a prestigious must see and not to be missed Irish boxing event.

True but both fighters end up with massive pay days. Could fill 10000 in Dublin but if It was MSG and they could probably get even more.

Overlooked that, Macklin will probably be placed int he IBF ratings after Barker leaves.
I'd be surprised though if Sturm picks him over Geale or Soliman... that is if Sturm is down for avenging losses

Geale had a rematch clause with Barker so i assume Sturm has to fight him now. Not sure if its immediate or if he can have an interm fight first but i really hope Lee vs Macklin happens. If Matthew doesn't face Andy because he's waiting around for a Sturm rematch it would be dreadful although Lee vs Korobov would be nice too.
