Comments Thread For: SES Wins Purse Bid For Stieglitz-Abraham Rubber Match

Robert Stieglitz and Arthur Abraham will be sufficiently compensated for their efforts to help break the tie in their in-ring rivalry.

A recent purse bid was won by Sport Event Steinforth (SES), Stieglitz' promoter to earn the right to promote the ordered super middleweight title fight. With a bid of more than $3.1 millon USD, SES will serve as lead promoter for the rubber match, which is scheduled to take place March 1 in Stieglitz' hometown of Magdeburg, Germany.

Jake, he wasn't destroying him. AA started slow as usual (that's his style, it's time to learn that) but then he missed a punch which led to his eye swollen shut. It's not like Stieglitz landed 300 out of 400 punches and AA's face was covered in blood and then referee had to stop it....again. ****** media !!!

Amazing that a second-level belt-holder who many fight fans never heard of is going to get paid $2.3 million for a SMW alphabet fight. Shows you how much money is in the fight game in Germany. Good for Stieglitz.

I was about to say the same thing. If it wasn't for the cut, AA would have been competitive for the remainder of the fight. We'll see how this one goes. Can't hope for AA to start faster, because he won't, but I doubt he gets cut again like that.

The fight was three rounds (plus one second to count the official 4th round stoppage). Stieglitz won all nine fighting minutes of the bout. Abraham was out on his feet in the 3rd, which combined with his eye being swollen shut, disallowed him to fight any longer.

To say he would have come back if not for the cut is ridiculous. He got beaten into submission. That's how the fight ended. You two can dream up any other ending you desire. I'll stick with what actually happened.

Much more on board with Jake's assertion of the fight.
