Comments Thread For: Daniel Geale Breaks Down Mosley-Mundine Showdown

"Sugar" Shane Mosley and Anthony Mundine finally meet Wednesday in Sydney, Australia.

The aging fighters were slated to face off Oct. 27, but Mosley withdrew one day before, saying he wasn't paid the remainder of his guaranteed purse in advance (totaling $1 million.)

This time around, Mosley got his money and the fight is on. There's no clear favorite in the bout and the loser is in a tough spot. Daniel Geale, who split a pair of bout with his bitter rival Mundine, gave BoxingScene.com his thoughts on Mosley-Mundine.

Shane has had a great career but should quit and... if Mundine loses HE SHOULD QUIt TOO!! If Mundine is not weight drained & comes in strong I'm afraid Shane will suffer another (humiliating?) defeat. I hope I'm dead wrong and Shane beats Tony's butt!! GO MOSLEY!!

        Respect and humility

I will always admire Sugar Shane for the great fighter he once was. From what I have seen in recent years his former greatness is no longer; the punching power, footwork and exciting attack are but shadows of what once was. Choc never obtained the peaks that Sugar harboured. Upon saying this I trust that if he (Anthony Mundine) scores victory over Sugar Shane Mosley he will remember such things and honour his past. Terry Downes, after he beat an aged Sugar Ray Robinson, was asked how it felt like to have fought and beat the great Sugar Ray? Downes answered: "I didn't fight Sugar - I fought his ghost." That is respect and humility.
