While there is plenty of room to debate just how ‘back’ Manny Pacquiao is from a knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez, his return was a successful one on Saturday. Brandon Rios, like Pacquiao, entered off a loss but was the younger, presumed hungrier man.

He was out of his class.

Fans got a reminder this weekend. Even in his inevitable decline period, Pacquiao is coming down from a level few achieve. This is one of the great ones. Greatness can take a long time to fade.

Let’s go to the report card.

Manny Pacquiao's bank accounts frozen in tax fight

Manny Pacquiao's bank accounts frozen in tax fight

Pacquiao said the tax office took the action because it believed he had evaded paying 2.2 billion pesos ($50.2 million) in taxes on his fights in the United States in 2008 and 2009 when he was at the peak of his career and earning tens of millions of dollars.

        Rios doesn't seem right mentally

Rios took a tremendous beating. Not sure if Rios can beat Guerrero or Berto or Maidana or even beat Thurman. Rios will now just be an opponent to beat the hell out of and move up the ladder. Bascially now a bum.

Agreed about the horrible stoppage by the British ref. It ruined what was a darn good fight otherwise.
