Comments Thread For: Freddie Roach Smiles: Ariza Will Disrupt Team Rios!

Hall-of-Fame trainer Freddie Roach is not bothered by the presence of their former conditioning coach Alex Ariza in the corner of their upcoming opponent Brandon Rios.

Interviewed by BoxingScene.com, Roach said he actually sees it as an advantage for their camp.

“Him being in the corner, I actually love that because he’s disruptive in the corner. I’m happy he’s there. I don’t know maybe Robert Garcia needs a helper,” said Roach. [Click Here To Read More]

    I disagree.
I think Ariza is an amazing conditioning coach, and he will have Rios in the best shape he's ever been in, which will be necessary when he fights Pacquiao.

Then you actually agree with Roach. He says Ariza is a great training coach. He also says the problem begins when Ariza tries to coach on things other than training.

It's too soon for ariza to act like that. Give it a few more fights given ariza is still with brandon after this Saturday.

Did Garcia say Ariza -wasn't- going to be in the corner?

Nah, they're still the honeymoon stage. Ariza is still respectful in a corner waiting for his help to be requested, he still doesn't feel comfortable to start opening his mouth. That phase should start in about 2 more training camps, you'll see Ariza ****ing around with Bam Bam too then getting more confidence and shouting over Garcia. That's when he'll get a beating in Oxnard and it'll be ugly.

Garcia and Rios have been sonning Ariza, pretty much treat him like he's there but he might not be tomorrow and they've pretty much alluded to that non stop. Garcia and his pops have their teeth deep into their fighters they ain't about to let someone come in and mess that up.

I think that as long as Ariza has Brandon in great shape, then he's done his job. Other then that, there's not really anything else he can help them with by being in the corner on fight night other then getting in the way as far as I'm concerned because the boxing coaches are Robert Garcia and his dad. Plus as far as fight strategy against Pacquiao what can Ariza really tell Garcia and his dad that they haven't already seen, the guys are professionals with great experience.

That's a great call bro! Exactly what I was thinking it would happen like.
