Comments Thread For: Photos: David Price, Sauerland Make Their Deal Official

Team Sauerland is delighted to announce the signing of British heavyweight star David Price. The 30-year-old Liverpudlian (15-2, 13 KOs), who currently holds the British and Commonwealth Titles, has inked a long-term deal with Europe´s largest and oldest promotional company.

“We are thrilled to welcome David to our team of champions,” promoter Kalle Sauerland said. “He is one of the most exciting fighters in the most spectacular division. We firmly believe that David Price has all the necessary tools to become Heavyweight Champion of the World. His power is frightening and his size formidable, but in addition to this he is a genuine boxing talent. Personality wise he can become one of the big UK sports stars - no doubt about it. He is genuine and sports fans love genuine characters.’’

The guy has crap footwork, neglects his jab, has no defence, and is poorly conditioned.

Oh, and he's working with a fraud trainer.

How is Booth a fraud trainer exactly?

Price has his shortfalls, sure, but he still has a lot of potential. If Adam can get him better conditioned, which I'm sure he can, and implement some meat and potatoes boxing nous, Price can get back in the mix. This could be just the change Price needs. Rooting for him.

Come on boys....we can do a bit better than trotting out all the tired 'does he have a chin or not' stuff

This is an interesting move for all sorts of reasons and on several levels.

Firstly, there's Sauerland moving in on the UK scene and signing a name. The Sauerland's have strong connections with the UK - both Dad and Son have lived in London - and this looks likes a real statement of intent.

Just like GBP they've got the finances and connections to operate globally and have been talking postiively about moving in on UK scene for a while. Signing Price might just be the start of a far bigger, more aggressive push.

Then there's Price himself. He probably came cheap with Maloney retiring and those losses against Thompson, so it will be very interesting to see whether Kali decides to feed Price to the lions or decides to build him back-up with some big, confidence-gaining fights in Liverpool.

we know he does not. i would make fun of his boxing but he's usually on the canvas before i can figure out how he fights.
