  • Comments Thread For: Edwin Rodriguez is Heading To 175 For Next Fight

Edwin Rodriguez suffered the first loss of his professional career at the hands of Andre Ward who simply dominated him in their fight Saturday night at the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, CA. Rodriguez also failed to make the super middleweight 168 pound limit as he came in 2 pounds overweight and was not able to shed the additional weight in the allotted time.

Rodriguez addressed the weight issue after the fight at the post press conference where he apologized and revealed he had been struggling to make the weight in previous fights as well.

He looked so damn sloppy. I think he'll get some fights at 175, but I don't see him doing anything. 175 is pretty tough.

The way Ward dropped that left jab on him, he better reconsider better conditioning than moving up in weight class.

I was thinking the same thing.
Needs to hire a conditioning coach. Due was gassed quickly last night.

175 is good for him going forward. but he better work on his game. if he fights at 175 like he did kast night. then he'll be a punching bag.

as someone who has unfortunately seen many of his fights before the ward fight. dude is a bum. he should have lost to aaron pryor jr(lol) and will roskinky. the "tournament" that he won he beat some argentinian journeyman and a weight drained gravech coming down from 175 to 170. this is like calzaghe's super 6 tournament where he fought mger mtchkian, juan carlos giminez ferrari, branko sobot, will mcintyre, and tocker pudwill.
