Comments Thread For: Lucas Matthysse Return is Eyed For March Date

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer advised BoxingScene.com that Lucas Matthysse's return is being targeted for a date in March. Matthysse and his team are going to sit down with Golden Boy in the next few weeks to finalize his next fight. Matthysse (34-3, 32KOs) had a mixed bag of tricks in 2013. He blew out Mike Dallas in one round in January, and then came back in May to stop IBF 140-pound champion Lamont Peterson in the third round of their non-title encounter. On September 14th, Matthysse secured his shot at WBC/WBA champion Danny Garcia, as the co-feature to Mayweather-Canelo, but saw himself fall short when Garcia outworked him for a twelve round unanimous decision win.

Bring it to the east coast so I can go watch him one more time before I get back to Florida in April.

Matthysse lost to Judah, Alexander and Garcia. Whenever Matthysse fought anybody decent he lost, he lost!

Good to see "The Machine" back in action, this guy eats, lives, sleeps boxing. Can't wait to see him back in that ring.

Glad to know Lucas will be back soon, and hope to see him fight another guy that will also be looking for a title shot to make the fight that much more intersting.
