It is a good signing and I guess a response to the buzz at LHW at the moment.
Kovalev brought attention to the potential of the Russian ex-ams and with GYM snapping up Beterbiev, Kovalev obviously with ME, Mekhontsev was TRs best bet.
Whether GBPs signing of Shumenov is their response remains to be seen but if so, I think they may have got the worst deal, although it's early days and we'll have to see how Mekhontsev and Beterbiev progress.
Beterbievs being moved pretty fast by GYM and I'm expecting he'll be in action again on the 30th, and I'd also expect Mekhontsev to be moved along at a pace to match, after all if Arum wants a piece of the current action at 175, he can't afford to leave Egor on the shelf.Comment
