Comments Thread For: Uchiyama Defends Against Kaneko on December 31st

WBA super featherweight champion Takashi Uchiyama (20-0-1, 17KOs) will defend his title against Daiki Kaneko (19-2-3, 12KOs) on New Year Eve's card on December 31st at the Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. Uchiyama fought at the same venue in May, and looked very impressive by knocking out previously undefeated Jaider Parra in five rounds. Kaneko will not come to the match to lay down, going undefeated since suffering back to back losses in 2007 - and knocked out seven out of his last eight opponents, in nine rounds or less.

That would be too good even for a Japanese twinbill. It shouldn't be promotional problems Miura fights with Teiken and Uchiyama usually fights in Teiken co promoted events

Uchiyama vs Miura and then a run in the US would be a dream come true.

Who is Uchiyama's promoter? Teiken? Trying to learn everything about the top Japanese fighters. Hopefully this fight isn't under Kameda promotions.

It looks like Miura is on the undercard against Jardon so if both win it's very likely they will meet in '14 for the rematch.
