Should Wilder just keep fighting softies until he can't get one out of there?

if Vit's retiring, the WBC belt is up for grabs
it's open season, so Wilder should go for it ASAP
win 1 more fight then do all he can to get a title shot
he'll lose to anybody really good, but let him take a chance
he's a puncher, he's not gonna develop anymore past sheer experience

Eventually they have to go that route but not yet, its too early to burst the bubble if they did now all of the build up will be for nothing.

He should wait a bit is what I am saying until he becomes more well known even if it doesn't mean much to people who know since he is just a can crusher but after awhile all anyone would look at is his ko record and either he loses to a top guy and that guy becomes the guy who stopped the ko machine gaining some legitimacy, or he wins, takes a title shot and loses then Wlad gains more credibility, or the unlikely scenario is that he beats Wlad then whoa a new boxing star.

I've noticed that posters here either label Wilder as a hype job, or, as being unprepared to step up. I think he's capable of beating some decent opposition and he should be put in a position to. The tomato can route has got to stop
The WBO have him no.4 in front of Chisora, Pulev and Fury.
        Ranked no.7 by the WBA
        IBF have him rank 13

He has some sort of WBC minor belt so that's why he's ranked so highly by the WBC.
