I honestly hate the idea of Amir Khan being the one who puts a loss on Floyd's record, or even the idea of him getting an undeserved shot at Mayweather, but as hard as it is for me to accept it, from 140 to 160, Amir Khan is the fighter with the highest chance, besides 3.0 Miguel Cotto, to put a loss on May's record. You all may ask why? or tag me as delusional with coments like "How that loud mouth glassed-jaw british boxers could even win one round against Mayweather? Well, with smart speed, reach and footwork.
I know you all gonna dismiss my previous statement, but when was the last time Floyd fought someone as fast as him with a solid jab, who knows how to box going backwards? Answer: Never! Zab Judah could match Floyd's speed, but his former style made him live and die in the pocket, and once Floyd figure him out he had nothing else to fire with. Pre-Trinidad Oscar de la Hoya may have been capable of beating the best version of Floyd. Sadly, Trinidad's fight changed his boxing approach forever. Mosley's enhance juiced speed would have give FLoyd trouble but his lack of great boxing footwork would have left him to expose to FLoyd's Boxing IQ. So, what other boxer not name Juan Manuel Marquez or Miguel Cotto knows how to box backwards? No one.
Lets analyze Amir khan for a second: He has amazing footwork with incredible hands speed. He learned how to box in/out and how to use his gifts to his advantage. The problem with him is that he get too self-absorbed every time he fights someone he believes doesn't have the skills to compete. In a humbly ****y way he tends to diminish his opponents' skillset and give into the opponent's strenghts ignoring the dangers of the sweet science. But, what if Amir Khan is finally faced with an opponent he mentally recognizes as superior? Will he put his mind in reinforcing what should be call "The Game Plan"? Or will he be the same Idiot with all know?
If Amir Khan effectively uses his in/out speed against the shoulder roll it will force Floyd to come out of his defensive shell to counter Amir's speed with precision speed. Its then that Amir Khan needs to employ that back peddling boxing IQ. If Amir manage to mentally avoid exchanging with Floyd in the middle of the ring it would put Floyd in a position he has never feel comfortable with, even thou he has the skills to cope with it. Amir will neeed to perform the greatest boxing dance of his life (A la Ray Leonrad) to end outpointing Floyd, who has never show the need to go Dark (Pressure fighting) in his fights.
Ironically, if this match ever comes true I will be 100% cheering for Floyd. I truly despise the idea of Amir Khan beating Floyd Mayweather for the first time. Can you imagine how much delusional press speeches he will give?Last edited by mfJow; 10-17-2013, 06:16 AM.

Floyd's all about that money and I think khan brings that money more than anyone else around right now and he is a low risk high reward fight,
Khan's jab is the key to this fight Focus all his attacks from the jab and he can have some success against Floyd, I see this fight being like Floyd and Judah minus the Royal rumble.

Mayweather vs Khan would be the biggest mismatch since Mayweather vs Baldomir. Don't forget Khan did not want to fight Alexander because he was afraid he would loose. He should try to fight Broner. I am sure he would loose that fight, but at least it would be better and more competitive than him fighting Mayweather.

Style wise, there is only one fighter in this era that can trouble money (not necessarily beat). Its the Pacman (If he bounced back from that k.o. loss & back from his old form 3yrs ago). Otherwise, no legit fighter from 140-154 can gives him fit.

I honestly think that Mayweather-Canelo/Mosley/Guerrero is more of a mis-match than Mayweather-Khan. There is only going to be one winner in a Mayweather-Khan fight like the aforementioned fights but at least we will get to see sustained action. Don't get me wrong, I can watch Mayweather dance around, make his opponents miss and potshot them all day but that doesn't mean I wouldn't rather see Mayweather a little more active in his fights and thats what you would get in a Mayweather-Khan fight.
Anyway Khan won't get the to step in the ring with Mayweather until he beats someone semi legit like a Guerrero or Garcia (could end messy again).

Lets be real here, if Floyd was able to stun and KO hatton, he will be able to do the same to Khan. Khan cant resist mixing it up, and Floyd has the reflexes to make him miss and then counter. Its too obvious I cant understand why its even debated.
As for Khan deserving a fight - from a entertainment perspective he absolutely does. I would love to see this fight. From a challenger moving into position perspective, Danny Garcia deserves the shot, IMHO.

Stick to the facts.
With Manny and Bradley in Arum's stable, they don't have actual options for Floyd... A Khan fight at the Wembley stadium could bring some money...
(Please don't mention Garcia or Broner...)
