Houston middleweight Chase Corley will fight a one-day, four-man Muay Thai tournament in Hong Kong on Monday, Oct. 21. Corley's opponents hail from Thailand, France and Canada.
Corley, 28, seems to be undergoing pugilistic identity crisis of sorts. He began boxing as a teen but switched to Muay Thai as a young adult and spent the better part of 2006-2011, fighting in Thailand where he amassed a 16-12 record.
Last year, he returned to Houston to resume fighting under the Marquis of Queensbury rules and is 3-0 (3 KOs) as a pro boxer. The switch was a permanent one, he declared, since practicing two sports simultaneously was counterproductive to both.
