Would impressive victories over these fighters enhance Mayweathers legacy? How much?

I wont add Pacquaio I just dont think the fight will happen unless he dumps Arum....Mayweather has done what many said he wouldnt do and fought and defeated a young strong champion like Alvarez to earn his 4th legit world title. Quite impressive. if he fights and beats these guys in no particular order...where would he be all time?

    1) Garcia in May

    2) Alexander/ Khan winner in sept

    3) Sergio Martinez if he still hold the middleweight title

    4) defend and retire with a win over GGG

I think this may be his most likely route to retirement and all winnable fights. Beating the current champion and junior welterweight and middleweight and defending against both the weights best contenders then retire. Lineal in 5 weights. Never done and undefeated. He would for sure be top 10 all time in my eyes. To some even top 5.

whats you guys take on it

Good list. Garcia, Martinez GGG. With the only iffy fight Khan/Alexander winner. I would however expect Devon to actually pose some competition.

Alexander is a hard sell but stylistcally he would pose problems with his southpaw style, speed and movement. He is reaching his peak too.

IMO, Danny at 140 and then winning the lineal MW title would elevate him because he would have 2 more lineal titles on his resume. The khan/devon winner does nothing for him. He will likely fight only 1 MW.

If he were to do the above, and then beat ward at 168 (i know pipe dream that will surely not happen) then I would consider him in the discussion with SRR and Ali as possibly the greatest ever.

No chance of him moving down to 140 and as per usual he's not fighting above 147 unless it's for big money which there isn't.

Those are good solid wins, but the way Floyd's held to a higher standard you know people will discredit all of those names. I'd like him to go for Sergio sometime next year. Maybe September before Martinez's age and injuries detour his abilities in the ring.

I don't see ggg even betting a possibility. The guy has a list of "whatever" names that doesn't even warrant a shot as of yet.

Garcia I think is the most deserving outside of Martinez. I would hate if Khan got a Floyd fight first. But financially it makes the most money which is bull****.. Floyd has enough money already

Problem with this scenario is that either Martinez and Golovkin will still have not fought, or Golovkin will have lost to Martinez. So either way Golovkin will not mean as much.

If Mayweather impressively beat the Martinez/Golovkin winner to win the middleweight title, that would probably earn him top 20. That would be a tremendous win, the type of legacy defining victory he lacks IMO.

Floyd is not held to a higher standard. Dude says he's the best ever, but more often than not, chooses a path with the least resistance. He created his own standard. Now he's just being held accountable for it.

I know, but as of this post these are the things that IMO would move him up. I think more realistically, he will beat danny at 147, maybe sergio at 154-157, broner and I guess manny.

nothing other than sergio really elevates him IMO.

I've seen the stance you take regarding Floyd. I'll respect it and agree to disagree
