  • Comments Thread For: Terence Crawford Hopes To Have Hometown Fight Soon

On Saturday evening blue chip prospect Terence Crawford (21-0) will fight on HBO for the third time this year. There has been a lot of talk that Crawford, who is rated as the #1 contender by the WBO, could fight for a title as soon as in his next fight. While Crawford is hungry for a title, he insists that he isn't looking past his undefeated opponent, Andrey Klimov (16-0).

I asked the recently turned 26-year-old if he is happy with the way his career has progressed. Crawford said that he is happy with where his career is at but admitted that he thought he would have been moved along a little bit faster.

So many times we see a prospect who we think will do great things and then they bomb out. But there really is something that stands out above those others. The fact that he never had a step up fight and jumped in with a top fighter and one who was in a higher division and on little notice....that's 3 things going against him and he shined.....tells me a lot. And he looked great in his last fight too. He really seems like a part of Boxing's future and the stars that will be there in the next 2 years.

Exactly! Crawford is a superb boxer that can crack as well, so I'm looking forward to him taking over at '35 and '40.
