Comments Thread For: Hopkins: Garcia Can Adapt To Mayweather's Style

Danny Garcia became a contender to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. when he defeated Lucas Matthysse on September 14th. BoxingScene.com spoke to Golden Boy Promotions shareholder Bernard Hopkins shortly after Garcia's impressive performance to get his take on a potential Mayweather-Garcia fight.

Hopkins said that Garcia is good at making adjustments in the ring and that most of Mayweather's opponents aren't able to adapt to his defense. He thinks that Garcia, who is based in Philadephia, gets the sparring and training that is necessary to deal with Mayweather's shoulder roll and defensive style.

No, Dannys' style possesses no threat to Floyd.

Another Bernard Hopkins Blablabla.Go back and watch how Amir was whipping him until he got caught, that will be the same blue print Mayweather will use without getting too close and comfortable....Another ass whipping is in the making if only he is not looking for a payday

Garcia would get smoked. He was getting owned by Khan until he caught him with that wild hook. That hook will never hit mayweather. Nor anything else garcia throws.

Floyd is leagues above Danny in every category. I like Danny, but he's easy work for Floyd.

Stop it. Just stop it! Danny is way too slow and wide with no footwork. Floyd would have a field day with him.

Hopkins is the best promoter in the business. Just showing some love for a hometown boy but Garcia poses zero risk to Floyd. He's too slow and has less than desirable defense. Try with all your might to sell this fight but it'd be another whitewash.

LOL. Let's see how long it takes before people start to warm up and buy into this fight.
