It really doesn't matter what YOU had it as. The fact is that Floyd beat Oscar, the much bigger man, and outlanded him by nearly 100 punches. You're criticizing him for not Manny but even Manny is not prime. So if he were to fight and beat Pacquiao now he would get no credit from the likes of you. Just drop it man.

Aside from all this, it's been proven that the thread is just plain wrong. Mayweather has faced a prime legit opponent in the last 7 years. Also, Marvin Hagler didn't move up to seek the challenges Mayweather is supposed to (again....), but it doesn't dent his legendary status nor should it.

Keepcontradicting made a silly statement then sought to move the goalposts by ranting about Pacquiao. Others are following suit by not discussing the topic at hand.

and no i didnt decide it was exclusively for a challenge--those are your words distracting the point. im talking about the result. the result is those guys fought very tough opponents (for whatever reason). Floyd hasnt. We should want him to. He is that good.
I told you why I responded, if you don't believe me thats on you.

As everyone can easily see, I copied your words verbatim from the post. They are your words, not mine.

I agreed that they fought tougher opponents. I said the reason for moving up in the era where the fighters you listed were fighting was better fights paid more money. That isnt the case in this era.

They fought tougher opposition also because the opposition was better. SRl, Hagler, duran, hearns, benitez, barkley. This is why I prefer floyd to fight sergio at 160 (a point which Ive made to you in other threads).

But, as I said, should floyd choose sergio, the motivation is money, not legacy.

Marvin never had to...there were killers that came to his division

one true killer went into Floyd's division and that fight never happened

SRL fought Hagler 5 years after the inital discussions. Floyd and manny could fight 5 years after initial discussions.

Pacquiao's unofficial win against prime Bradley is better than any win on Floyd's resume from the past seven years. now I understand why they call him a cherrypicker look at his resume, full of inexperienced and shot fighters.
