Nicaraguan boxer Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, the junior flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), will take a non-title fight at flyweight against Mexico's Francisco "Chihuas" Rodriguez Jr.. The event, being organized by Prodesa of Nicaragua, Teiken of Japan and Zanfer of Mexico, will take place at the Convention Center Hotel in Managua, Nicaragua. TV Azteca will televise.
"Chocolatito" arrived half an hour late to the weigh-in and even received a penalty for coming late. He came in at 112.5 pounds, while Mexico's Rodriguez was 112 for the ten round bout. González come to this fight with a record of 35-0, with 29 knockouts, while Rodriguez built up a record of 15-1-1, 9 KOs. However, shortly after weighing in, the Mexican boxer explained that his professional record is 18-1, with 15 knockouts.
