If ESPN gave more mainstream coverage to boxing then it wouldn't be even close to being percieved as dead.

Instead on Sportscenter you see more coverage being given to Nascar, hockey , and golf. Why? Advertising dollars. Those sports correlate more to a white male aged 26-45 which is the most coveted niche from a marketing perspective due to their buying power. It's accidentally racist but a puposely class-based prejudice.

Boxing just had (is still having) an awesome 2013 with more and more prospects emerging. But the ignorant, lazy people at ESPN say its a dying sport.

BTW I wasn't trying to be racist, but its obvious that Sportcenter has a preference for the sports with the whitest fanbases. Boxing getting more time on Sportscenter would make it more of a "mainstream" sport.
