Comments Thread For: Theophane: Alexander is Too Much For Amir Khan

BoxingScene.com recently caught up with welterweight contender Ashley Theophane who faces Pablo Cano on the Floyd Mayweather versus Canelo Alvarez televised pay-per-view undercard. I asked the 33-year-old for his opinion on a couple of upcoming high profile fights.

WBC/WBA champion Danny Garcia faces Argentine power puncher Lucas Matthysse in the co-feature slot beneath Mayweather-Alvarez. Theophane said that Garcia can be successful if he is able to withstand Matthysse's power. [Click Here To Read More]

Shots fired shots fired. TMT will be headed across the pond for Theophane vs Khan some time next year.

I agree! I REALLY wish Khan't hadn't taken this fight. After all his talk, I really want to see what he can do against Floyd.

Khan is fighting a guy that can't KO him...so he could very well win.

Alexander has a killer L Uppercut. His trainer has him fighting on the backfoot, bc he can win a boxing match, too. Intriguing matchup as Khan actually boxes slightly better than Alexander, but has less stamina. Alexander TKO10

Khan doesn't get close for uppercuts.

Lol Khan needs to add some granite to his chin, he won't have to worry about getting knocked out by alexander, doesn't hit hard enough.

Nah, there are plenty of Welters out there that would challenge and pose a threat to Khan, but I really don't think Alexander is one of them.

Alexander is the type of fighter Khan usually walks over. Look at how Kotelnik outboxed Alexander, and Khan basically made Kotelnik look like an amateur fighter.

Styles make fights, and Alexander is tailored for Khan. Khan has never been outboxed, only Koed, while Alexander has been outboxed, and outboxed by someone Khan schooled.

And Khan hits harder than Alexander. You put a Thurman, or a Matthyse infront of Khan, and anything can happen, but Alexander? Mark my words Khan will win on points, or stop him. Bradley and Kotelnik have proven that Alexander isn't the boxer people claim he is.

Easy win for Khan. But the future, when Khan has to face tougher opponents, than we'll see how he holds up.
