Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Confident Canelo Will End Mayweather's Run

Oscar de la Hoya claims ‘The One’ has become the richest fight in history because people want to see Floyd Mayweather finally lose.

De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions have put together Saturday’s £150 million Las Vegas scrap when Mayweather challenges WBA super and WBC light-middleweight champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

The financial records set when De la Hoya was outpointed by Mayweather in 2007 will be shattered in the fight being screened live in the UK on BoxNation (Sky Ch. 437/****** Ch. 546).

De la Hoya, the GBP President has never been close to Mayweather despite his organisation’s involvement in making him the world’s highest earning sportsman in 2012 and almost certainly this year. [Click Here To Read More]

Canelp WILL End Mayweather's Run Setting Up Canelo Verus Gennady!!!

Floyd is done... Floyd doesn't hurt anyone in the ring, unless you drop your hands, step back out of a break, and look to the referee so you can get sucker punched. Other than that, he doesn't hurt anyone, ran from Guerrero, took a beating from Cotto, nearly knocked out in 2 rounds by a 40 year old Shane Mosley... this is the end of the road and it just as well be Floyd's biggest payday... because he could have had $75M guaranteed to fight Pacquiao, and he balked at the idea; Manny was too dangerous in his prime. So now Floyd chose to take the most money out there, and it's his last hurrah. Don't have to like Canelo, but he's too big, too strong, too fit, knock out power in both hands, and when Floyd gets hit, he will stay hit. This thing is over now.

Mayweather in for a surprise as a long time Mayweather fan, I got to say Mayweather came alot out of character in this fight. He pretty much validated all of Pacquaios wins with him begging Canelo for a catchweight,if he wins he gave the nay sayers their out with the catchweight all the Canelo fans and those who hate Mayweather will say "Canelo was drained" etc. So even if he wins no one will respect him for the win outside of those who already respect him blindly.

To the contrary I think Mayweather is trying hard to be Oscar.

Anyone who bet on Guerrero or Ortiz is a damn fool. I'm sorry but you have two glorified fighters with 1 and 2 fights in a division and no real resume indicating they have it in the tank to pull it off..those were sold hype jobs. No disrespect to either man because they are warriors but not even them genuinely believed they had a shot in hell..that was all hype. It was a payday and an opportunity to trade a loss for more exposure. Boxers can lose at any given time why wouldn't you cash out that loss to the top bidder? I'm a fan of Cotto and he's fool for taking the fight too..he's too damn slow..did he get some shots in yes but he didn't do anything we didn't expect due to his experience. This kid on the other hand we don't know what the hell to expect from him..I honestly expected Trout to give him more trouble than he did and from watching a few fights while yes against inferior fighters he's shown to not be one dimensional..I wish and hope they worked on his not needing to be set to punch but we'll see next week.

I honestly can't remember the last time Oscar said anything that came true.

floyd haters bet based out of their hatred towards a fighter that has nothing to them lol. i dont understand how a boxer that they have never met before has the ability to get inside their head and completely take over their emotions.

Good to know Oscar, since you have no reason to be biased at all.
