  • Comments Thread For: Nielsen vs. Ma***ski Early Fight Results From Denmark

Frederikshavn, Denmark - Sauerland Promotion's show at the Arena Nord in this Northern Danish town kicked off with a heavyweight bout scheduled for four rounds. Swede Otto Wallin, 2-0, floored out of shape and overweight Estonian Valery Semishkur, 18-29-1, twice for a stoppage at 55 seconds into the second. The towel came in after the first knockdown but the referee missed it and the mismatch continued a little too long.

Cecilia Braekhus fought with A TON of heart... I never would've thought that she was holdin' power like that with a 6 K.O. record.

Nielsen is showing a steady progress. There's still flaws, but he looks like a top 20 MW now. He is close to a shot at Quillin now.

Is he rated higher in the WBO? Why Chocolate?

He just won the WBO i/c title so he now has both the WBA and WBO i/c titles. He is higher ranked by the WBA but he will rise on the next WBO ranking.

Why WBO? Because the WBA champ is Golovkin, and he would surely flatten Nielsen. Quillin is much more human IMO.

Well, Chocolate needs some opponents, so he needs him.
Murray's the mando anyway for Golovkin.
I still have no idea who chocolate will fight since Macklin will fight Rosado

Well it's not like Nielsen is ready for a titleshot right now, but a couple of more fights and good training under Joey Gamache should ensure readyness.

As for Quillins immidiate opposition, how about Sturm? Sturms best days are behind him, and Quillin would get a good paycheck in Germany. I wouldn't be to afraid to get robbed there as Sturm has had a few debateable decisions going against him.

There's also roider Sam Soliman or how about Geale?

Oh yea, Nielsen isn't ready for that world stage yet.... this was his biggest step up.
But for Chocolate's future he'll need future opponents. The Showtime and GBP stable is pretty dry at MW and a little sparse at SMW.
Rosado's fighting macklin now, Jacobs will be out for a while and now they just have international fighters to rely on.
Sturm will most likely face Barker. Soliman is down, but I think he's still serving a ban. Geale, he's a possibility, but not for October. I know he wants a rematch with Barker, but he won't get that for a while... so Geale has a good shot at landing golovkin in Jan or Chocolate in Feb/March
