  • Comments Thread For: Chris Arreola-Seth Mitchell: Pre-Fight Report Card

By Cliff Rold - They can’t all be champions.

Even in this watered down era of beltholders and interim beltholders, some guys never get a strap. It might be by way of management’s course or timing. It might also be the thickness at the top.

In the confines of the Heavyweight division, that means Klitschko with a side of Povetkin. It’s not an easy ceiling to bust through.

Chris Arreola had a shot at Vitali Klitschko a few years ago and while he showed guts there was little hope of victory from early on. Seth Mitchell, buzzed bad in each of his last three fights and stopped in the first of two with Jonathan Banks, doesn’t look like any sort of threat to the stop of the class.

    So what?

What Heavyweight has missed more than anything during a largely down period is awesome scraps. We’ve been getting more lately. Steve Cunningham lost his last two fights moving up from Cruiserweight, but his rematch with Tomasz Adamek and scrap with Tyson Fury were both fun. Povetkin-Marco Huck was both controversial and thrilling. Both Tony Thompson-David Price fights were memorable. [Click Here To Read More]

For obvious reasons, this fight is hard to predict.

Arreola in one. Mitchell has a glass chin and Arreola is going to be relentless from the start.

I'm rooting for Mitchell, hope he finds a way to win even with his suspect chin. THAT would be impressive.

I think this fight will be exciting as hell tbh. I lol at people who want exciting build ups to boxing. my primary concerns when watching boxing is who fights who inside the ring. I've spent to many years watching both hbo and showtime to know that hbo had stars fighting bums for too long while showtime constantly put on the better match ups.

I always end up rooting for Arreola and he continues to fall short. Just when you think he's going to show up for his biggest fights he loses. So I'm going to say Arreola in 3 but I can see a UD or KO for mitchell. Depending on how safe Mitchell plays it.

As soon as there is an exchange and counters are thrown and landed...Chris will get the better of it and Seth will get clocked. Lights out.
