Comments Thread For: Sasso Lopez, Chicano Cotto Win Bouts in Caguas

Caguas, Puerto Rico - Super featherweight prospect and the new WBC's CABOFE champion Edgardo "Sasso" Lopez (8-0-1, 4KO's) overcome his biggest test by having a unanimous decision win over previously unbeaten Alvin Torres in an eight round bout as part of Miguel Cotto Promotions and Hector Soto's H2 Entertainment "Boxeo Boricua" series in WAPA 2 Deportes.

Sasso outpointed the tough Torres who was always going forward. Torres had his best round at the end of the fight but couldn't finish Lopez.

I am very very happy with this great victory. I said I was going to beat him and I did it. Torres is tough fighter with heavy hands but I use my intelligence to maintain my game plan" Sasso said after the fight.

If Torres had thrown more Sasso would've been knocked out, but he hung in there and got the win.
