  • Comments Thread For: De La Hoya Warns: Canelo Won't Be Guerrero on Sept. 14

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya is warning experts that Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs) looked very impressive on May 4th because Robert Guerrero had the wrong game plan and fought flat-footed for twelve rounds, and that allowed Mayweather to stay on his toes and move in and out. De La Hoya expects Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) to provide a much tougher challenge on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Not this sore loser again, damn Oscar quit whining. Tell you what I'll give some cheese to go with the whin you keep doing. Oscar is starting to sound like Ruben Guerrero, I guess he wants Floyd to go toe to toe. Now all of a sudden Robert fought flat footed and Floyd was able to move around the ring. These things are coming fron a guy the call the golden boy. Last I checked ring movement was part of boxing. And if he expects his guy to be able to be the next rooster, he might want to make sure he can go the full 12 rds without getting gassed. Training up in Big Bear isn't going tk fix a problem the kid was botn with at least in this fight........

ODLH trying to hype his fighter. Guerrero was actually doing good for the first few rounds until like always Floyd adjusted.

If Canelo starts boxing he will fight at the pace that will favor Floyd.

But I know why he looked good, because Floyd Sr. was back in his corner and Floyd Sr. makes him work hard and get in great shape," De La Hoya said.

As compared to training under Roger, who never had Floyd training hard and always had Floyd showing up out of shape, right Oscar?

any game plan is the wrong one against mayweather. because once you show your cards. he takes you from that one and make you fight another one. then you're cooked.

Geez, some of you guys sure hate Oscar. You must have lost alotta money betting against him when he was active in his prime... either that or you forget all the money you won betting for him back then.

Anyway, anyone who thinks Floydie gets a cakewalk with this fight is just fooling themselves. Win or lose, this will be the toughest outting for him ever.
