Do you not agree he seriously likely, loses the rematch?

Surely that loss straight after Groves, likely lessens his career prospects and possibly makes him retire, as he often suggests he might do after a loss.

I'm lukewarm on Froch at best, but surely from a fans perspective the best that can be hoped for is him entertainingly winning a few top fights, unifying some belts, and signing off with a respectable loss to Ward? That's the harsh reality. I'm not sure that's quite as possible/realistic/successful, with Ward II in 2014 instead.

Or he could lose in between and scupper the fight forever. The fight is hot now. Froch has earned the right to get another shot at Ward.

The third Kessler fight will always be there, there is no rush to make it. It's much more likely that he could lose to Ward again and then do the trilogy with Kessler.

Froch isn't a fighter that has taken the easy road so he shouldn't start now.

Yeah I see what your saying. I just think there's still more of a call for Froch-Kess 3 in early 2014 than there is Ward II.

Furthermore if he does it that way round the fights with Kessler, Bute, Stieglitz see him without a belt, less bargaining power, possibly less of the pots.

Who is calling for Froch-Kessler 3? What's the point? Fight fans (should) want to see the two best in the division not a rematch of 2nd place play-off.

Froch has bargaining power regardless because of the numbers he can now draw in terms of attendance and PPV in the UK.

If the third fight was action packed then it'll go down in history... Gatti and Ward weren't epic fighters but their trilogy is one of the best.
I didn't think so. Thefirst fight was what everyone wanted, blood and guts, and potential KOs but the second and third were almost anti-climactical, and the third one was really a walk-over.

They put on such a crowd-pleasing first fight that there was much fan pressure for their next fight and demands that they should be paid a million dollars each...which I believe they got. I don't know about the purse for the third fight.

People that want to and know they will get a very entertaining fight. I think there's been similar polls, but a poll on preferring Froch-Kess 3 or Ward II, I reckon would favour Kess. At least, if Kess wins a decent enough fight too this year.

The fact is Ward is heavily favoured to beat Froch again, which sours Froch's run of wins and bite of late. He'll have no belt and zero aura of aiming to prove he's #1 coming off that loss to then face Kess, Stieg and others thereafter.

I wish this fight doesn't happen, I would rather Froch fight other people as I see him as the better the 2 fighters even though they have 1 win a piece. I want Froch vs Andre Ward god damnit. I don't blame anyone if they settle for a 3rd fight, it will be a good scrap and will settle the record on paper at least.

It's a meaningless fight though. You can put two bums in the ring and you might get an entertaining fight. Who cares? It doesn't prove anything. It's a money making exercise to fleece dumb fans.

Froch has nothing to gain from the fight except a cheap payday with most of the boxing world laughing at him for choosing Kessler over Ward.

Froch has lost twice before and has come back even stronger each time. You are severely overplaying the ramifications of a lose to Ward. He has a number of big fights available to him. He just looks a bit pathetic if he doesn't go after Ward first.

Kessler is done. Froch settled the score with a rematch. With all due respect to Carl, his @ss was handed to him by Ward. That's the fight he HAS to take. That's if he wins against George Groves, who is a stylistic nightmare for Froch's crude, very tough approach.
