    1. Manny hasn't ducked any fighters with pernell's skill level because bar floyd I don't think anyone is that close in this era.

    2. Pernell isn't a mayweather atg level fighter, it's actually the other way around floyd wishes he was as good as pernell.

    3. Manny didn't get outboxed by Bradley if you think so I would recommend suicide.

    4. Yes he did struggle with Marquez but that is the clash of styles, and btw it took him 3 attempts to get to manny.

    5. Floyd toyed with Marquez? I don'tunderstand how this relates. A. Triangle theories don't work and B. again the style match up was the issue and if I want to not be controversial I won't mention the catch weight.

    6. I don't think they are complete fighters Robinson was a complete fighter. Not atg pernell and cherry picker floyd.

So there you go I broke it down for you hope you enjoy the lesson. Jheez I feel like rigo educating an absolute moron.
    Good stuff, /thread

Whitaker had that insane upper body movement and would frustrate an aggressive fighter like Manny, kinda like what he did to Oscar...but it wasn't enough to win rounds. I know Whitaker was better at 140 then the version Oscar fought at 147 and he would trade with Manny more but nothing Whitaker throws can back Manny up.

Mnany would come in, throw his combos, miss some punches, move back out, Whitaker would paw with his own punches and then the process would be repeated for 12 rounds. I really can't call it, I can see both guys getting a close decision.

For many of his top opponents he was not all that difficult to hit, especially to thr body. He had however an advsntage over defensive boxers in that he had a good attack and could punch. This side of his game hase often been overlooked. I'd expect in a matchup with MannyP at, say lightweight or 140 lbs it would be pretty even with him avoiding Pacquiao's right hook but not avoiding his straight left to the body. pacquiao would be very fast and also not easy to hit with his in and out herky-jerky movements and footwork. Whitaker's footwork was of a completely different type.

I don't know who'd win, I believe that it would be close whoever it would have been.

Its a great fight , and really gives a look at contrasting styles , very similar to how Floyd beats Manny also , brilliant gifted boxers like Whitaker and Floyd will box Mannys ears off.
