Comments Thread For: SHOWTIME Weights From Carson, CA

By Jake Donovan - All four televised participants are at the scales for Saturday’s SHOWTIME-televised doubleheader, which airs live from the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

The headliner features Abner Mares (26-0-1, 14KO) in the first defense of his featherweight belt, which comes against its former claimant, Jhonny Gonzalez (54-8, 46KO).

In the televised co-feature, all-action former bantamweight titlist Leo Santa Cruz seeks his second title reign, as he faces reigning 122 lb. titlist Vic Terrazas (37-2-1, 21KO).

Santa Cruz, who previously reigned as bantamweight titlist, tipped the scales at 121.75 lb. Terrazas came in slightly lighter at 121 lb for the first defense of the belt, which he won in his vacant title fight versus Cristian Mijares earlier this year. [Click Here To Read More]

This looks like the perfect weight class for Mares.

Terrazas is too small,he will make it interesting for 5 or 6 rnds, but Santa Cruz will break him down late around 10 or 11 rnds and become a 2 division champ...war Leo!!

I see Mares having no issues with Gonzalez. Leo will win by stoppage proley around the 9th.

Corona Girl on the right! Wow!

That Corona girl on the right may be the hottest one that has ever been trotted out there. What is a beauty like that wasting her time with that nonsense for - so beneath her. She could excel at real modeling. Incredible!

Oh. and Mares has a thick upper body. He's really filled out. Jhonny looks OK but not sure what we will get from him.

The Viking should give a very good account of himself.

Sounds like people are underestimating Jhonny Gonzalez. If anything, He has the power which is enough to put anyone down.
Going to be a great card.
