Props to the management at HBO for putting on better matchups now

Only Americans are willing to put on top notch (including the ref and judges) competitive fights featuring foreign fighters.

The foreign networks and fans are way too xenophobic to ever extend the same treatment to American fighters.

All the big fights in the USA are covered by either Russia 1 or Russia 2, and have been for many years.

Most US title fights are covered by either BoxNation or Sky Sports in the UK, and many by PolSat or Orange TV in Poland.

That's true all the big PPV events are covered here for free, in HD. But on the other hand fights like Golota - Saleta or Povetkin - Wawrzyk were on PPV here in Poland

that's very different from picking the fight up and being the lead broadcaster, the way HBO did last night. what HBO did, putting on two foreigners in a main event who don't fight out of america and have american fanbases, is risky. it's pretty rare.


i don't have a problem with it, and i think they'll do it again if the money is good. last night was a good card.

No, Russia 1 and 2 telecast with their own commentators in the Russian language, they don't just rebroadcast it off HBO or Showtime.

And those are two of the biggest TV stations in Russia, not smaller networks like EPIX.

They'll be showing the Mayweather-Alvarez card and other big matchups, even though the boxers are not Russian.

These FOTY fights, most of them were garbage fights that turned out to be fun. Rios-Alvarado and Bradley-Prov were terrible matches, which turned out exciting. Showtime has put on the more quality fights with the more quality fighters. It depends what you like to see. Two top seeds going at it, or the MAC....it is what it is.
