  • Comments Thread For: Fortune Fires Bombs at Ariza In Wake of Roach Firing

Last week, it was revealed that trainer Freddie Roach fired Alex Ariza, who for the last few years was Manny Pacquiao's strength and conditioning coach. Roach and Ariza worked together with numerous high profile fighters at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California.

Back in 2007, trainer Justin Fortune parted ways with Roach - and the parting was tense and created headlines all over the sport. The two of them worked side by side in training Pacquiao, but a tense disagreement over the training camp for Pacquiao's fight with Jorge Solis was the final straw for Fortune, who left and opened his own gym in Los Angeles.

If Pacman really wants to go old school he needs to bring back Justin Fortune to get his butt in shape.

Bring the old team back that would be dope.

Justin Fortune was known to have used PEDs (according to Freddie Roach.)

Why would they want to bring him back?

Fortune POSITIONING Himself For His Old Job Again; He Is Right, Ariza Can't Shut Up!

I like the fight of Fortune. I don't know if he really had involvement in PED's and that's the reason he was fired; show me if that's the case... But he DOES understand a trainer's role in a corner. You don't know Boxing, you keep your mouth shut unless you are asked a 'conditioning or cramping' question. Ariza could have had the best gig in Boxing, but he couldn't contain himself and shut up, and let Freddie run the show. So we'll see. I like that Fortune laid it on Ariza, and took Freddie's side (the guy who fired him), and clarified who runs the corner. Fortune would love to have his old job back conditioning Pacquiao, and with all the PED testing, there's no concerns there. And we have no idea if there were concerns to start with....

Manny's a tool. He won't bring Fortune back.. He'll probably use some half ass strength and conditioning coach.

All of what PED testing? As of today Pacquiao has yet to take any tests besides those of the commission.

You don't have to take my word for it about Justin Fortune and steroids. Freddie Roach is the one who said it.

Manny could train for 2 wks on bread and still KO Rios , you guys are looking for silver bullets , Manny is not the superman he was hyped to be its as simple as that , he won for reasons and he lost for reasons and it had nothing to do with lack of conditioning .
