Comments Thread For: Hammer vs. Larsen, Ilie vs. Danny Williams on Aug. 23

EC Box Promotion returns as previously reported to Galati, Romania on August 23 for a show that will be televised in Europe on EuroSport. Heavyweight Christian Hammer, 13-3, headlines and takes on big Norwegian Leif Larsen, 17-1, in a defence of the WBO Euro title. In the chief support middleweight Goekalp Oezekler, 15-1, is in against undefeated Hungarian Istvan Szili, 17-0. Switzerland-based cruiserweight Nuri Seferi, 33-6, faces American Garrett Wilson, 13-6-1. Romanian Guilian Ilie, 19-6-2, looked chunky even at light heavy but steps up to heavyweight and face no other than Danny Williams, who despite numerous retirement announcements, is back again. Williams is 44-17.

Easy win for Larsen, who has the talent to get to top 20 contender status if he gets some good matches. This is a start. Shame about Williams, as bad as he is now, and as much people like to ridicule him, he was a real good HW in his heyday, top 15-20 back around '04.

            Great domestic heavyweight Williams was

Kept getting up from about 20 knockdowns and having a go at Vitali amongst all these contenders who used to go down like they'd been hit with a ******* the first time they were clipped with anything above the *******

Knocked some dude out while his dislocated arm was dangling by his ankles

KO1 Kali Meehan inside 20 seconds, fantastic stuff with the UK-Australia rivalry and an australian vs british champ

            Ended the Fraudley hype train

Yeah, Danny had his share of good moments

Danny wasn't the most skilled fighter, but I don't think anyone can question the guys heart. You could have beat him with a lump hammer and he wouldn't quit.
