According to WBA "regular" junior welterweight champion Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-0, 9KOs), he is possibly going to defend his title in the fall against Karim Mayfield (17-0-1, 10KOs). Both fighters recently signed contracts with Top Rank.

Khabib says the fight might possibly land on the Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios undercard on November 23rd in Macau. Mayfield has a stay busy fight on September 7th as part of the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.-Brian Vera undercard at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Mayfield just does not excite me at all. Guy is boring (to me at least) and always loads up on that right hand.

These guys not only have fought some solid names, but they fight each other and Gary Russell Jr who I was SERIOUSLY high on, is fighting a guy who has lost 9 of his last 10 fights in Juan Ruiz. What the ***???? Gary, Jose Benevidez and Jessie Magdaleno need to step up like Kahbib and Karim and all the ShowBox fighters do!
