Comments Thread For: NBC Sports Early Results: Mchunu Shocks Chambers

Mohegan Sun Casino, Uncasville, Connecticut - Thabiso Mchunu (14-1, 10KOs) spoiled the plans of Eddie Chambers (36-4, 18KOs) with a ten round unanimous decision. The scores were 97-93, 99-91, 99-91. Chambers, who spent his career at heavyweight, was looking to become a force in the cruiserweight ranks. Mchunu outworked Chambers, landed the better shots and made the more experienced fighter miss many of his shots.

Chambers is wasted talent imo. He looks out of shape in every fight. This was a brutal loss.

If Curtis Stevens lands that left hook on GGG, don't even bother counting. Curtis has the power tor turn GGG's lights out fast. Everybody talks about GGG's power but it does not compare to Stevens. Not even close.

Yeah, me too....imagine GGG's weird eyes rolling in his head after that punch landed. GGG would have to hope that left hook doesn't land just once perfectly in the entire fight.

1st We have to see if that fight gets done, then see who would land first & if it's Stevens, gotta see how Golovkin would assimilate the shot cause he has shown to take a good shot & till now no one has seem to rock or stagger Golovkin & Stevens has already been KO'd once by Venezuelan Marcos Primera who at the time was 19-15-2-12KO's & Priimera who had been KO'd 4 times before facing Stevens & managed to stop Stevens in 8(out of 10)..

Chambers matched up as bad as he could having to be on the front foot and countering against a southpaw (taking his jab basically and making him do the opposite of what he does at heavyweight). Against somebody like Lebedev it's a whole other story imo. But I want to see Mchunu again soon. He's the goods.
