Former lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco (28-3-1, 21KOs), who recently broke ties with promoter Gary Shaw, has signed a promotional agreement with Zanfer Promotions of Mexico. He returns on August 10th at the Caliente Racetrack against Fidel Monterrosa (31-7-1, 25KOs) in a junior welterweight contest. The fight will be televised by TV Azteca. This will be DeMarco's first fight since suffering a TKO loss to Adrien Broner in Novembr of 2012. Also on the card, super bantamweight Daniel Rosas (15-0-1, 10KOs) faces Roberto Castaņeda (20-3-1, 15KOs).

Guy was due a big money fight on HBO. Guess they(he and his team) are not so confident about his prospects.

He got his big shot on show time against valero and his big shot on HBO against broner. He lost both. I'm not sure what big money fight he was due.

Why was he due a big fight? The guy has legit won 30 seconds combined in his 3 toughest fights

i think he had a deal, that if he fought broner, he would get a 2nd fight on hbo win or lose
similar to the deal that zaveck and seluck aydin got,,, but hbo will make you wait forever,,

not sure if thats the case with demarco but thats the only thing i can think of.

to make bradley-alexander,,, hbo guaranteed the loser a tv date,,

I'd like to see Demarco against Khabib. Who else is there to fight from Zanfer/Top Rank at 140?

Ya Tony wasn't really due much he has too build himself back up signing with Zanfer should mean he will only face the TR side off 140 since Beltran and Arum seem too do business together.
