    Comments Thread For: Donaire: I Go For Knockouts, To Entertain, Not Points

    BoxingScene.com recently spoke to former champion Nonito Donaire about his upcoming plans. Donaire said that he would welcome a rematch against Guillermo Rigondeaux but isn't 100% sure that he can get back down to the junior featherweight limit.

    "As a fighter of course you want that. (A rematch) is what you want. It's just a matter of getting the weight settled. I'm not going to lie. I'm 145 pounds right now. The last time I had a lot of issues going up in weight even though I didn't eat too much. If I properly do it I can probably get down to 122.

    "In two months I will know. If I get down to 130 that's my goal. If I can't then it's going to be hell to make 122. It would be like (when I used to ) go down to 112. You know me. I'm willing to fight anybody. I don't turn fights down," Donaire stated.

    shame that you came nowhere near to scoring a knockout, were nowhere near entertaining and didn't even win any points hardly.

    of course he's trying to take something away from Rigondeaux but he has no chance of doing that.

      'Discredit, discredit, discredit....'

      Oh, that's right...the Rigo fight isn't the only time Donaire has been boo'd.

      P.S. It was a left Rigo hit you with in the 12th, not a right. If you're going to make excuses as to why you got hit, at least get it right.

        Frosty-G pretty much nailed it with that statement... Donaire comes up with the lamest excuses

        And to Donaire ----->

          Sounds to me like a sore loser. Why do boxers have to come out with the most ridiculous excuses. I didnt eat right , broken toe , I fight for KO's not points, etc...Nonito should have some class, admit defeat like he did which I praise him for that , but don't say anything else. The guy was better than you period, life goes on, get a rematch.

            No, you didn't throw combinations because you were scared of counters. And Rigo probably would have got the KO, if you hadn't performed the most blatant act of running that I have seen.

              i generally dont find donaire to be that entertaining. the montiel and kirilov fights were pretty good but alot of the time i feel like he's just waiting for the counter shot. he's right about throwing more combinations. you can't knock everyone out with 1 punch so he should be throwing more than 1 punch at a time

                Donaire still hurting. He couldn't do what he usually does because Rigondeaux neutralized him. Funny these young guys and their excuses.

                    Donaire shouldn't make these excuses, i can't believe he didn't watch tape of rigo. This is professional boxing, what a liar. I'm kinda glad Rigo won cause Donaires ****yness was disrespectful to Rigo and he deserved that L. Even though i was cheering for Donaire.
