Comments Thread For: Robert Steiglitz Retains, Stops Yuzo Kiyota in Ten

Energie Verbund-Arena, Dresden, Sachsen, Germany - Robert Stieglitz (45-3, 26KOs), defending his WBO super middleweight title for the first time since reclaiming the title in March from Arthur Abraham, stopped Yuzo Kiyota (23-4-1, 21KOs) in the tenth round. Kiyota used very dirty trick in the book, and lost a point in the fifth for hitting on the break and nearly had another taken off in the same round for throwing Stieglitz down. In the ninth, a bad cut opened up above the left eye of Kiyota. The fight was finally stopped in the tenth with cuts around both of the Japanese boxer's eyes.

Watched most of this. The Japanese opponent was game but Stieglitz had too much energy for him.

Stieglitz v Bika or Froch would be great for the Autumn.

Kiyota had never beaten anyone in the top 100 at super middleweight so it's surprising he lasted as long as he did
