Comments Thread For: Hearn: Froch, Groves May Collide in 2013 Blockbuster

Eddie Hearn says that a huge all-British super middleweight World title showdown between IBF and WBA champion Carl Froch and unbeaten Commonwealth champion George Groves could happen later this year.

Reacting to reports this morning that the IBF have ordered Froch to face mandatory challenger Groves, Hearn, who promotes both fighters, clarified the position on both boxers and the potential of a clash between the champ, who turns 36 today, and the 25 year old Londoner.

“We are in talks regarding a potential blockbuster domestic fight later this year,” said Hearn. “Both fighters have plenty of options and although it’s a fight we originally envisaged for next summer, if it makes sense for both fighters, neither has a problem with making it happen.”

There would be far more "CA$H/MONŁY" for George Groves if he was to take out WBC titlist Sakio Bika 1st & line up a unification @ 168Lb with Carl Froch for next year with a 50% split. I know for a fact that there are a lot of UK ex- pat's in Australia who would back George to the hilt out there.

      This ^^^^.

Groves needs to fight a legitimate top 10 ranked fighter before Froch. There was talk of a 'big fight' in September, but so far nothing has been announced. Stieglitz has ruled himself out, so Bika would make sense.

I'd like to see Groves fight someone like Bika first to make this fight relevant, hell, even someone like Abraham if they could make that happen.

I am probably one of a few on here that thinks that Groves would be a tough fight for Froch. Technically he is very good, is quick, has a great jab and right hand and moves very well. His defense has improved a lot recently as well. I'd still fancy Froch, but give Groves a couple of big fights and I think he'll be ready.

Hearn is keen on making this fight and it would be a MASSIVE fight in the UK.

Same as this, unfortunately Froch definately has the upper hand as he layed Groves out in sparring

I'd heard that Froch called Golovkin.
Believe me or not but I think that Carl would beat GGG at this stage...
