Two undefeated Russian young guns continued to improve their game by acquiring vacant youth titles under the WBC banner minutes ago at Yunost Arena in Chelyabinsk, Russia. The entire show was orchestrated by the Ural Boxing Promotions, guided by Evgueny Vainstein and Alexey Vasiliev.
In the main event, 20-year old local welterweight Konstantin Ponomarev (21-0, 10 KOs) put on some boxing clinique against rugged but limited Ghanaian aggressor Isaac Aryee (15-6, 14 KOs). Ponomarev used his premium footwork and body movement to avoid hard punches by the African and landed his jab at will. Power wasn't enought but Ponomarev cruised to a unanimous decision over ten rounds with almost lopsided scores: 100-90, 100-91 and 100-92. The Miass native is now 3-0 this year and remaining very busy.
