The issue even if not physical will be mental. The pressure to win, the pressure to get over the KO, the fear knowing it can happen again, etc. It is no accident he picked a face first brawler that he can't miss. However, be wary this may backfire. If Pac hits Rios and he doesn't go anywhere Pac may be in trouble. Rios is an unreal pressure fighter and he is one heavy handed SOB too. If Pac gets Rios out of there within 3-4 rounds he will be fine. If this fight goes past 6-7 rounds Pac is going to take punishment.
Manny Pacquiao chin will no longer be the same, read this about punch resistance

i don't need a doctor to tell me what happens when a fighter is knocked out, or has a 61 fight, world championship boxing career.Comment

Typical Floyd stan twisting fact and lies. Show me the link, quote or video Pac said that himself. It was Arum who said that making excuses and trying to put in Pacquiao's mouth. The truth is Pac said he doesn't like his blood to be taken near the fight like the Morales fight because it weaken him. He was talking about his experience when they took another sample of his blood a day before the first Morales fight because his first blood sample they took magically disappeared. That was the main reason he asked for cut off days but never turn down the Floyd test and told him he can take his urine for a test everyday if he wants. Take note all these boxers recently on PED were caught using a urine test but nice try again though.there could be other reasons as well. I read an article; online I think, that said one of the ways you get over fear of needles is doing strenuous chin and neck exercises. Since the rios fight has VADA testing, and will surely involve needles, maybe he's been working on that.Last edited by straightleft; 06-20-2013, 07:50 PM.Comment

There is no scientific truth in this. Everyone is human and the little liquid that keeps our brain intact is not superglue, there is only so much of a knock our head can take without messing with the nervous system. Vitali was KO'd in his earlier days as a kickboxer but continued to go on and so many other sportsmen too. If a shot lands clean and disrupts the liquid that protects our brains you can have a blackout.Comment

He is been out cold a least once before, go to youtube and watch it...This is an article about MMA fighter Roy Nelsons granite chin, but its a good read. They ask a Doctor about ability to take a punch. this is why Pacman will never be the same again he was concussed out cold for the first time in his life, being knocked out cold is much different than being knocked out but still awake. He will never be the same

No, "scientific stuff" is not theory, not how you are understanding it.You do realize many of the scientific stuff is theory right?
the doctors theory on this makes a lot of sense, he speaks the truth man, just face it dudes chin is done. He was put out cold and anytime a guy is out cold they never have the same type of chin.
the previous times Pac was knocked out he was still awake so he could recover from those type of KO's.
Unless there are peer reviewed scientific journals than this one single doctor's opinion doesn't matter at all.
This has to be the message board with the lowest IQ that I go to.Comment

Lowest IQ? dude you are saying you are smarter or more knowledgeable at this stuff than a Doctor who studies this stuff for a living?

This is the worst comeback fight for him to choose after getting KO cold.
If you want to comeback you take on a boxer who doesn't have much power so you can regain a bit of your confidence back, not a aggressive pressure fighter, with knockout power and an iron chin.
This fight was made by Arum to see where Pacman stands, either way he wins, Rios beats Pac he gets to transfer the fame over to Rios and let Rios fight the Bradley vs. JMM winner, Pac loses he becomes a stepping stone and retires.Comment
