My understanding is that whoever controls the money fighter controls boxing. Al Haymon and Mayweather, Oscar de la Hoya and Golden Boy, Mike Tyson with Don King etc.

Then use the fighter to get TV dates for other fighters etc.

As long as Al has Mayweather, he'll be raking in the dosh.
