By Robert Morales - Golden Boy Promotions has a dilemma. On one hand, it wants to continue to help Floyd Mayweather Jr. promote his fights, which is a no-brainer. On the other hand, Oscar De La Hoya's company can't just cater to Mayweather, especially when it actually promotes - by contract - his opponent.

In this case, that will be Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on Sept. 14 in a junior middleweight title-unification fight at MGM Grand in Las Vegas (on Showtime pay-per-view). No, Golden Boy must make sure both parties are happy. So De La Hoya basically takes the side of Alvarez, while CEO Richard Schaefer seems assigned the task of singing Mayweather's praises.

De La Hoya told BoxingScene.com just the other day that he believes Mayweather's insecurties are showing because he asked for - and received - a catch-weight of 152 pounds for this fight. I would advise arch-minimalist Andre Ward to take a tune-up fight first -- in front of a 4,500 hometown "crowd". Time and living on food tickets will teach him best.

Your argument defeats itself. Oscar got stopped in that fight.

Any time a fighter asks for a catchweight, it's showing an insecurity. Whether it's Pacquiao against Cotto/Margarito, whether it's Oscar De La Hoya vs Hopkins, or whether it's Mayweather Canelo.

Molina lost a close fight in a fight where he looked tensed and unable to get off, perhaps not well prepared physically seemed to run out of gas on the latter rounds. No sense in dwelling over something that's already done.....who knows what actually happened on this fight but to Molina Jr. I would suggest to shake off this defeat and get back on the horse... just another bump on the road.... I know what you're capable of and let's do this !!
