Comments Thread For: Erik Morales vs. Humberto Soto Poised For September

Former four-division world champion Erik Morales (52-9, 36KOs), and former three division champion Humberto Soto (61-8-2, 35KOs), are poised to fight each other in September. This past Saturday in Tijuana, Soto did his part to move forward with the match by stopping Hiroshi Nakamori of Japan in nine rounds. Morales' promotional company, Box Latino, was a co-promoter in Saturday's card. Following the match Morales gave praise to Soto, but also said he is ready to face him in the fall. Two sides will continue the negotiations for a date in September.

Pretty even fight. I give the edge to Morales. I think he's always been the better fighter and even now, it will show.

This is a good fight for both guys at this point of their career. Very similar styles as of late, Soto doesn't move so much after his combos. If Morales chin is not dented or his age affects him this should be a action fight till the end
