Sometimes, rematches disappoint. Saturday wasn’t one of those times. While the wild abandon of the first fight seemed to take a little longer to break out, Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler closed what had been a grueling show with a final two rounds for the memory banks.

They’re all tied up with the final championship of each other begging to be resolved. Will we see a Froch-Kessler rubbermatch?

And where does the World Champion at Super Middleweight, Andre Ward, factor in?

Why what's the point? Froch seems to be getting better whilst Kessler is getting worse another fight proves nothing.

Not just that, Froch had a lot of legitimate excuses at the end of the 1st fight - a fight that most agree would have been scored differently had it taken place in the UK. It was a close fight in which Froch felt he had under performed. Froch walked away from that publicly keen to set the record straight in a rematch.

In contrast Kessler was discouraged after the rematch. He had been a tough, tough fight that he had come out second best - the boxing world pretty much unanimously agreed he clearly lost. He looked like a man who had no competitive interest in a rubber match because he knew that he had given his all that night already.

That was Kessler's 49th fight opposed to Froch's 33rd. Given Kessler's prior serious eye damage and the fact he is not getting any better then he should call it a day

It was a great fight again. A kind of fight that you don't want to have to many of.

A close win for Kessler in Denmark and a close win for Froch in England. I think this would be a nice way for Kessler to go out. A close loss to a great fighter on his hometurf.

Kessler has been a champion pretty much ever since Froch turned professional. All those camps takes a toll the body and Kessler has chronic bad elbows, shoulders, collarbones and back to go with several nasty handinjuries and eyeinjuries.

It might even be that Kessler (again) entered a fight with an injury on saturday. In that case it is further proof of his fragility.

Kessler is a great ambasador for danish boxing and the best boxer in modern times by more than a mile. He has been and still is an outstanding rolemodel for hard work, dedication and clean, organic living. At the same time he knows a great deal about boxing, so if he chooses to retire, which I think I hope, then hopefully he'll continue to play a role outside the ropes.

I'd love to see it, but Kessler looked a bit worn Saturday. If I were him, I'd retire with my senses intact and some good memories for his fans.

I have been trying to keep my mouth shut but I can't anymore. First a few things. Even though I think Froch is overrated and very limited skillwise, he did win the fight and props to him. Let's get into reality though. That win was as much about Froch's effort as it was about Kessler looking pretty worn out. It was competitive and Froch clearly won but anyone who saw that as a great performance by Froch is either a fanatical fan of his or blind. Froch looked no better than any other fight, with his only real weapon in my eyes being that sneaky up jab which he landed all night, I will give him that. He fought timid a little though and for all the talk of wanting a war, it was funny that kessler was coming forward almost the whole fight and Froch was trying to keep him away with his jab. If Kessler could have stepped on the gas and fought more aggressively it could have been different. Kessler hurt Froch 2-3 times but could not press the action. Either way Froch won so props to him. However if anyone even remotely thinks the Ward/Froch rematch will be other than another one sided outclassing by Ward, they are in for a surprise. I just want Froch to keep running his caveman mouth until someone knocks him out, which will happen if he keeps fighting because he is only getting slower, and he is already painfully slow already lol.
