    According to World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman, Olympic gold medal winner Odlanier Solis (19-1, 12KOs) has agreed to take part in the WBC's first World Cup. The Cuban heavyweight is currently training with coach Pedro Diaz. The World Cup is a tournament style competition being put together by the WBC.

    Can someone tell me what that WBC world Cup actually is? Is it something like price fighter? How manny rounds will be fought?

              I heard about this ages ago. Basically the plan was that when Vitali retires they would have a world cup type eliminator between all the young prospects to see who gets his title.

              I think it's basically also a plan for the far future. Since they're afraid there will be no dominant champ they need some way to keep people interested. Frankly I think it would be a great idea should no dominant name emerge.

                Read a few weeks ago in a Mex paper Solis was participating, also undefeated lightweight Daniel Estrada.

                @ least will give a few divisions fighters some work and pay days, hope it works for the boxers...

                    No it involves 4 weight divisions, so your Vitali reasoning is garbage.
