Comments Thread For: Klitschko, Povetkin Getting Close To Doping Tests Deal

An agreement is very close to being reached between unified champion Wladimir Klitschko (60-3, 51 KOs), and mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin (26-0, 18 KOs), as it relates to the agency handling the Olympic style drug testing for both boxers.

Klitschko wanted to use NADA [Nationale Anti Doping Agentur], based in Germany - while Povetkin's side wanted to use RUSADA [Russian Anti-Doping Agency], which the Klitschko side rejected. Both NADA and RUSADA are affiliated with WADA [World Anti-Doping Agency]. [Click Here To Read More]

      Sounds fishy.....

What kind of special agreement do they need for NADA? What kind of "certain conditions" can there be for a doping test?

Hryunov said last week that Nada can do the testing and take the samples etc, they just want samples forwarded to RUSADA so they can analyse them too.

the fine details don't even matter
Povetkin is a dead man, Wlad will wreck him
Povetkin should just be happy he's getting a nice payday
just like Haye, he'll probably take it and run
but if we're lucky, he'll man up and accept his beating

They fear RUSADA would manipulate test results, so why not fear that a decision result would be manipulated in Moscow? I see Wlad getting robbed.

I think Povetkin will want to go out on his shield. He's fighting in Moscow, the biggest fight of his career.

I'm calling it now. Povetkin will go on the 'run' and get a hometown decision.

Povetkin is not a defensive/running specialist. If Klitschko can not manage to stop him its his own fault. And running alone would not be enough for Povetkin to win even in russia. I just hope the ref will do something about Wladimirs leaning and holding tactics. He gets away with it every time in germany and im sick of it.
