It's a close call IMO Calzaghe fought good guys, it's the fact that he never sought the best guys, which he admitted.

Agreed. Gamboa would make a fool out of most guys too but that doesn't mean he gets to be ranked higher.

Calzaghe literally fought busboys for 10 years then won a tight debatable decision over a 42 year old Hopkins.

Calzaghe was a better fighter than Froch but, in terms of consecutive tough fights taken with mostly winning results, few in this era can dream of rating with Froch.

            Froch does.

Calzaghe never had half the balls Frochy has and the public both in the UK and across the world will remember it. Froch dared to be great

H2H? Good fight. Id have said Joe easily before but now i dunno

He barely beat any "good guys".

The rare time he fought a "good guy" most of the time they were coming off a poor performance or a loss and thus either out or at the bottom of the rankings.

He fought 3 fighters his entire career who were amongst the Top 5 in his division at that time.

Froch consistently fights the best and and almost all of the time beats the best.

Yeah, i despise Calzaghe for hiding out in england, ducking johnson and then only taking on Roy when he was waaay past his best and still calling himself a "legend killer" after the Jones and Hopkins fights both of which saw him go down in the first round while fighting +40 year old guys... I still have to admit that managing to edge out Hopkins tops anything Froch has done.

Better resume is Froch, no doubt about it. Calzaghe might have the Hopkins win, but Froch has far more credible fighters than Calzaghe does.

calzaghe's best win is still something froch can't match. hopkins went on to have meaningful wins after calzaghe beat him.

calzaghe's kessler win is also better than any win froch has, as kessler was at the absolute height of his powers, and would go on to good things later himself.

after that zaghe's got eubank at the end of his career, and an overstated jeff lacy. to round it off he's got woodhall, shieka, ceratinly nobody to write home about.

froch lost to andre ward and kessler. i thought he lost to dirrell, but that was a close fight and froch got the W, so it's a win on his resume and i can't/won't argue with that.

pascal, taylor, dirrell, abraham, johnson, bute, kessler. many of those fights were strung together, one after the other.

froch has a deeper resume. he fought much better fighters, mostly at their peaks. he's a great fighter in my book. not an ATG, but one of this era's greats, and one of the best fighters at SMW.

froch's chin is superhuman. the guy is out of this world tough.

in a row froch fought: pascal, taylor, dirrell, kessler, abraham, johnson, ward, bute, mack, and kesslerII.

                      that's superhuman.
