I'm backing Britain's Carl Froch to exact clinical revenge over Mikkel Kessler when the gladiators collide for the IBF and WBA super-middleweight belts at London's O2 Arena this evening.

Three years ago, when the pair locked horns in Denmark as part of Showtime's Super Six series, the Great Dane scalped Froch by a clear unanimous decision after a titanic tussle. Home advantage was critical on that occasion and will prove equally decisive tonight.

The action should certainly be lively for however long it lasts and will cement the winners place as number 2 in the Super Middleweight division behind unbeaten US star Andre Ward. Both Froch and Kessler have fallen short against the highly talented Ward. Kessler pulled out after eleven one sided rounds, the Brit was decisively outfoxed over twelve. WBA King Ward would beat both again and this makes a difficult sell for the winner to challenge him.

What Frank says about Purdy is correct. BUT I seem to recall him putting Bellew through the mire to make weight for Cleverly when Braehmer dropped out. He was like 190 a few days before the fight!

I'm no fan of Warren but this is inaccurate. Bellew told Warren he wanted the fight and was on target weight, got there did the press conference and when he had check weigh-in was way off target weight.

Interesting to hear what he says re the sparring. Worrying for Kessler but at the same time sparring is sparring and if sparring was the measuring stick of a fighter then Spadafor or whatever his name is, would be pound for pound no:1 right now instead of Mayweather.

Does make you wonder if Kessler has it anymore though?

I'm siding with Frank on this one, Froch over Kessler, probably by late stoppage. Carl has gotten better since there first fight, or at least appears to have, whereas Kessler has struggled with injury and inactivity. Carl is a notorious gym rat and is always in top shape for 12 hard rounds, you have to wonder just how deep Kessler's tank still is at the moment.

This is a very good and very underrated fight. Can't wait. The fight is on live early today in the states and replayed around the usual fight time in the states.

I think Froch wins this time. I thought he won the first time, but I was just happy Froch lost at that time. Both fighters have gone from having no resume to very good resumes.

Received a message from Frank Warren Promotions.

When Tony Bellew accepted the offer to fight Nathan Cleverly - after Juergen Braehmer failed to arrive for the original fight - he confirmed to Frank Warren that he was 4lbs over the 175lbs limit. When he was check weighed on the scales he was actually 14lbs over the weight and he was withdrawn from the fight. Bellew later sent frank an apology by text message saying:

"I’m sorry I lied to you but I have to do what I have to do!! It’s about me family this Frank, I’ll kill an die for em sorry again xx"

I trust that this clears up this incorrect statement.
