Comments Thread For: Sugar Ray Leonard Continues To Help Through Boxing

Former world champion Sugar Ray Leonard has become a good host within the last couple of years, all for a good cause.

Celebrities in and out of the ring came out to support the 4th Annual “Big Fighters, Big Cause” Charity Fight Night at the Santa Monica (CA) Pier on Tuesday night.

Overcast skies did not dampen the mood or atmosphere as about the event had everything from silent auction on sports memorabilia, complimentary food from Southern California eateries, and professional boxing under a giant tent.

Sugar Ray Leonard is my all-time favorite fighter, bar none. I met him and even exchanged emails with him. Waited a long time for another Leonard but that hasn't happened.

All time legend, class act, all time most courageous

Retired for 5 years, then came back, no tune up, to climb in the ring with Marvin Hagler?!!!!!!? NOBODY does that! Floyd Mayweather can't juice up a set of ballz that big. Ray went all the way to Light Heavyweight for a challenge, fought Tommy Hearns twice, Duran twice, Hagler, Benitez.... PURE GOLD, LEGEND. I wish every champion in Boxing would model themselves after Ray Leonard, in and out of the ring.
