Carl Froch wanted a second shot at Mikkel Kessler the second Kessler was announced as the winner of their April 2010 super middleweight title fight in Herning, Denmark.

Froch understands, however, why Lucian Bute basically has steered clear from facing him again, despite that the IBF super middleweight champion contractually owes Bute a rematch.

“I think Bute knows he can’t beat me,” Froch said while discussing his rematch against Kessler on Saturday in London. “I think he knows I’m too strong, too tough for him and a rematch will only end in the same way.”

I have to say I completely agree with Froch here.

I always said Bute was imo a paper champion, he never looked strong and durable to me and (check my posting history) I said Froch would stop him (I think I called it inside 8 rounds.

For me, Bute always needed too much time to do his work and, I always thought when he fought and elite guy this would happen. When Froch rushed him, he couldn't cope with Froch's power - he didn't have the chin and looked hurt straight away - a rematch seems pointless as it hard to see anything different happening.

Why he's stepping upto LHW to fight Pascal I have no idea, as I can only see that ending the same way as Froch. A big payday is my guess as I do believe and agree with Froch that Bute is 'mentally' finished.

Unfortunately it's tough to recover from that sort of drubbing. What a wreckage that was. I was a fan of Bute too, still am, but that was rough.
